Bridging Cultures Program

Included in GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Semester/Year Abroad Programs

The Bridging Cultures Program (BCP) is our multi-day, in-country study abroad orientation program that blends lecture, adventure, and culture together for an informative and fun introduction to the country in which students will be living and studying abroad. The Bridging Cultures Program is a core component of the GlobaLinks Learning Abroad study abroad experience and designed specifically for semester abroad and academic year abroad students. The cost of the program (including most meals, accommodation, transport, and excursions) is included in the program fees.

The Bridging Culture Program's vary in location, duration, and purpose, but each BCP aims to:

help you meet other students studying abroad at your same university or region
introduce you to the local culture, including the language/lingo, food, traditions, and more
encourage you to reflect on your goals and expectations for studying abroad
prepare you for being healthy and safe in your host country
inform you of cultural and academic differences you may experience
provide you with a fun and memorable adventure
