Financial Aid The U.S. Department of Education advises that the Perkins Loans, SSIG Grant Program, Pell Grants, FSEOG Grants, Stafford Loans, SLS Loans, PLUS Loans, and Consolidation Loans can be used for study abroad. Financial aid for a summer study abroad will come from your home university, not from GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. You can use the federal financial aid you currently receive at your home university as long as your home university allows you to apply your aid on study abroad programs. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad will accept it as payment, but the aid must be disbursed by your college/university. Please contact the study abroad or financial aid office at your home university or college to see how much of your aid can be applied abroad. If you do not currently receive financial aid or if you need your award amount increased to cover the program fees, then you will need to apply for it as soon as possible through your home university.
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad can also help you apply for alternative student loans from other sources outside of the government. Contact our office for more information.
Scholarships GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers more than $400,000 a year in student scholarships through its partner 501(c)(3) called the Foundation for Global Scholars. All participants are eligible to apply for this additional aid, and each term over 100 student s receive a monetary award of $1,000 or more to offset the cost of the programs. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs also has separate funding through partners like Qantas airlines, STA travel and university partners worldwide solely dedicated to the programs of GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and the students. Payments/Refund Policy GlobaLinks Learning Abroad will provide a copy of the most update fee sheet and payment schedule for your study abroad program after acceptance. Within two weeks of acceptance, an initial payment will be due to secure your place in the program. You will be billed for the appropriate program fees. Program fees are required to be paid prior to your program start date unless a guarantee of funds is provided for students with financial aid. If you choose to take advantage of our prearranged housing, you will be billed upon allocation of that housing. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad accepts check or Visa/MasterCard for payment. Secure online credit card payments can made through your MyLearn Account.
