Deborah has been with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad for over 9 years – all within the marketing department. A NAFSA member since 2003, Deborah has contributed to the Region II team in various roles. Initially Deborah served in the role of the IT/Communications Representative from 2005 to 2008 and currently as a Sustainability SIG Regional Representative. She has presented at numerous conferences on topics ranging from marketing on a small budget to sustainability in international education. Deborah also serves on the Studio Abroad Advisory Board for Terra Dotta.
Deborah graduated with a BS from University of Washington. She studied abroad during her undergraduate career in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and lived and worked in Mexico for an additional 5 years after graduating from college. She has traveled extensively throughout the Americas, Europe, Northern Africa, and Australia – and most recently took a trip with her husband and daughter to the Galapagos Islands and mainland Ecuador. Deborah enjoys running, reading, snowboarding, and spending time with her family.
As Marketing Director, her role includes overseeing and implementing the marketing strategy for the organization, including the management of: special promotions, annual publication development, company-wide lead acquisition and conversion, development and direction of six websites, marketing budget and expenditures, and all print and web advertising. She most enjoys finding new ways to get students excited about study abroad.
