Getting started with the enCompass Program - a simple 3-step process: 1. Choose the categories where you would like to complete activities from the following: - Knowledge Sharing - Write about your experience
- Visual Arts - show others what you saw while abroad
- Social Media and Technology - talk about your experience in a more causal setting
- Volunteerism - volunteer to help the international community at large
- Research and Academics - present on your research abroad
- Planning for my Future (looking forward) - using your experience in a future career
- Promote International Education - talk to others about going abroad!
2. Make a list of activities already completed at the time you're applying. 3. Email alumni@globalinksabroad.org with "enCompass Program" in the subject line and the following info in the body of the email: - First and Last Name
- Home University
- GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Program you participate in (i.e. Semester abroad at University of Otago or Summer Program in Japan, etc.)
- Mailing Address
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- The list of the activities you plan to complete (and/or have already completed)
We'll then send you further information on completing the different activities, where necessary (i.e., how to host an information table, etc). Reporting Completed Activities Once you’ve completed the activities, you should report them to the Alumni Coordinator by emailing alumni@globalinksabroad.org who will keep track of what you’ve accomplished. You will need to complete five activities to officially complete the program - you can do the activities in any combination or order. If you've already completed any of these activities, you don't necessarily need to do them again, simply notify us which ones you've already done when you sign up for the program. Upon completion of five enCompass activities, you will be eligible for the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year Award, which is an outstanding opportunity for any one interested in the field of international education as a potential career. Now give it a go! Feel free to contact the Alumni Coordinator for advice or assistance where necessary. We'll check in periodically as well. |
