Learning About Our Programs: Denver & Overseas

Denver Advisor Open House Days

We are committed to ensuring you understand all our pre-program services and on-site care programs and want to establish a trusting relationship with you. To help accomplish this objective, we offer advisors a chance to visit us at our main headquarters in Westminster, Colorado through our Advisor Open House program offered twice a year in January and July.

These two-day visits are packed full of information and face-to-face contact with key enrollment managers and staff of the organizations. You will leave the Open House with more knowledge about the programs, a greater sense of our competencies in helping you run your education abroad program, and a strong feeling of the passion and expertise in our staff.

To express an interest in one our Advisor Open House programs, contact our Director U.S. Institutional Relations.

Overseas Site Visits

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers affiliate advisors and faculty the opportunity to visit our program sites to gain first-hand knowledge of both our university partners and our extensive overseas support services. These educational tours may include visits to our partner universities, campus and housing tours, city tours, Bridging Cultures Program, and cultural excursions.

When determining if a site visit is the appropriate investment of time and resources, it is essential to know the rationale for the visit(s), the destinations and partner institutions you’d like to visit, the objectives, the timing and financial resources available through your institution. Site visits are valuable, but take time and resources. All proposals for site visits are vetted by the Executive Director.

Pacific Region

In the early years, when GlobaLinks Learning Abroad was known as AustraLearn, we found group site visits effective, but as the ease or mobility in Australia, New Zealand changed, so did the need for a group to experience the academic and cultural elements of these nations together. It is our perception that most study abroad professionals, while they may not have visited Australia or New Zealand personally, have a high level of comfort with the destination, and a general understanding of the academic and cultural differences that exist there. We prefer to offer assistance in organizing a site visit that is more customized to your specific needs. Traditionally these visits are 7-8 days in length, but again we can customize them for a duration that meets your requirements. Funding for these visits are typically at the discretion of your university however we are able to set up all your visits, logistics and ensure you are prepared for the experience. We may offer limited funding to partners who are actively engaged in working with the GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs.

We recognize Asia is an emerging destination for education abroad. As a result, we plan to host sites visits to the countries where we have partner university programs. The site visits will be arranged as a group and led by a staff member of GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. The goal of the site visits will be to expose participants to some of the service components that your students experience as GlobaLinks Learning Abroad participants and bridge the cultural environment of each destination with the academic excellence of our partner universities. We also welcome the opportunity to develop a custom-designed site visit to meet the specific needs of your institution in the event you are already going to be in the country. If you are interested in either option please contact your Regional Director

There are varying comfort levels among destinations in Europe. With an established, on-site Residential Director based in London we have the capabilities to organize a multiplicity of site visit options. In the future there may be group site visit opportunities to one or two of our continental European destinations. Please discuss your requirements with your Regional Director.

If you would like to participate in a site visit or an open house experience in Colorado or if you merely want to discuss your professional development needs for these programs, please contact your Regional Director, or call the GlobaLinks Learning Abroad office at 1-800-980-0033.
