Pacific Region - GlobaLinks Learning Abroad

Shelia Houston

Shelia is the Director of GlobaLinks Learning Abroad's in-country operations in the Pacific Region: Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. She has worked with us for over 12 years and is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors. Shelia was born in the USA and eventually emigrated to Australia. She has a broad business background in international business in both public and private sectors, and is a founding member of the Australian Internship Industry Association. More>

Jalyssa Brummer

Jalyssa is a Resident Director based in Rockhampton, Australia. She is responsible for designing Custom Design Short Courses in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for North American Universities. She also provides assistance and support to students during their stay in Australia. She studied abroad at Lincoln University in New Zealand and has traveled New Zealand Australia, and Fiji extensively, as well as Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. More>

Tammy Harth

Tammy contributes to the Pacific Region Team as the Coordinator, Events and Finance. She is responsible for managing Culture and Adventure Programs, Site Visits, assisting with Short Courses, Staff Visits, and Finance and Student Services. Tammy has a varied career within the Travel and Banking Industry. She previously worked for Travel Crew based at the Central Queensland University campus in Rockhampton Queensland where her expertise was in group travel. More>

Steve Luther

Steve oversees academic marketing, communications, and relationship-building initiatives for all GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs with faculties and academic advisors for U.S. higher education institutions. He also handles marketing of customized programs to faculty and U.S. and Canadian universities, curriculum integration and special programs for specific majors, and has been with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad since 2002. Jerome Le Carrou

A native of France, Jerome completed a combined major in political sciences and journalism at Utah State University. Based in Shanghai since 2005, Jerome has worked as an assistant editor for Shanghai Talk magazine and has helped creating the "Foreign Culture Club". Jerome founded Next Step Connections in October 2007, with the goal to create an international education organization focusing on programs that you do not learn at school. Jerome brings an extensive professional network to NSC, as well as a wide-ranging portfolio of skills. He is fluent in French, English, and Mandarin.

Len Hyashi

Born in Los Angeles, of Japanese and Chinese descent, Len graduated from the University of California, San Diego. Len has lived in Shanghai since 1997 and joined NSC in April 2008 as a partner. Len brings a wealth of operational and managerial experience to the fast-growing organization. As the international internship director, he oversees all day-to-day operations, and directs the workforce. He is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and English.

Dr. Arturo Jarque

Dr. Jarque was born in Alicante, Spain, where he lived and studied until he moved to the USA. He has a Ph.D. in Contemporary Humanities and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and History from the University of Alicante. He also has a Master of Arts from Louisiana State University and was a Fulbright researcher at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.  Dr. Jarque was Director of Hispanic Studies for North American Universities at the Universidad de Alcalá, Madrid, for nine years and Regional Director and General Manager in Spain for a well-known American study abroad organization for almost seven years. Dr. Jarque was also a teacher for years and has had extensive experience in both the Spanish and American university systems developing academic programs and providing academic related services for American students.
