Lauren's first time overseas in 2002 helped her realize her passion for intercultural awareness and the importance of respectful dialogue. Thus, she always says that her first international experience has informed every major decision she has made--personally and professionally.  Lauren is a 2003 ISA alum and a returned Peace Corps volunteer from Ukraine in the education sector.  She received a B.A. in Spanish and Art Therapy from Capital University in 2003 and her M.A. in International Education with a focus on International Student Exchange from American University in 2010.
Prior to joining ISA, Lauren was the Director of Study Abroad and Exchange Programs at the University of Northern Colorado where she worked with all outbound U.S. students interested in education abroad programs, as well as with incoming international exchange students. Additionally, Lauren worked at American University's Washington College of Law on a short-term, bi-lingual study abroad program for human rights and humanitarian law students mostly from Latin America.
Lauren feels fortunate to have traveled to over 20 countries. In her free time she enjoys exploring local cuisine wherever she happens to be, the outdoors, contemporary art, and board games.
