Overview

Quick Links

General information applicable to all GlobaLinks Learning Abroad  Semester and Year Abroad Programs:

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad has designed the Massey University program with your individual student goals in mind. It is built around a unique Discovery Model which is delivered by some of the best staff in study abroad, both in the U.S. and overseas, in order to provide you with an individualized experience through discovery in 5 key areas: personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional. Learn more about the Discovery Model.

Located on Auckland’s popular North Shore, Massey Albany is New Zealand’s newest and most modern campus. Known as the Innovative Campus, Massey Albany has approximately 7,000 students. With its distinctive Spanish-architectural style, state-of-the-art facilities, free parking and progressive feel, this campus offers a truly unique and inspiring setting highly conducive to study.

This fast-growing campus has forged strong business and community links, allowing students to undertake postgraduate work and research with national companies and large community service providers. The prestigious e-Center, which fosters and incubates company start-ups, is just one of example of Massey’s many key research and industry partnerships.

Location

The largest and most cosmopolitan city of 1.4 million, Auckland is New Zealand’s commercial and economic centre. Auckland is popularly known as the “City of Sails” because of the hundreds of yachts to be seen in its three harbours.

A city of immigrants from its inception, Auckland’s colourful mix of European, Maori, Pacific Island and Asian cultures makes it our most international city. The sophisticated urban environment, great climate and numerous leisure options has the Auckland lifestyle ranked amongst the best in the world.

Massey Albany, located Auckland’s North Shore, is surrounded by cafés, shopping centres, cinemas, art galleries, libraries, a performing arts facility, and extensive leisure and sport facilities, including the North Harbour Sports Stadium.

The North Shore region covers 120km of coastline and includes many beautiful beaches. Part of the North Shore's appeal is that it is just a short drive from the city lights and downtown lifestyle of central Auckland, yet it has a real community feel and beachside character. The North Shore is served by motorway links to Auckland and the International Airport as well as to major rail and ferry terminals. City bus services are efficient and relatively inexpensive.

Academic Highlights

Study Abroad students are able to select from a wide range of classes, depending on their interest and background of study.
