NAFSA: GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Program and Destination Seminars
We are all excited to attend the National NAFSA Conference in Vancouver this month. We are located at booth 1810, so please come by and visit us. Also, this year we will be offering Global Gabs, small sessions focused on specific topics to allow advisors to learn more about offerings through GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. The seminars will be one hour long and take place in our suite at the Pinnacle Downtown Marriott, a block from the convention center. Donate to the NAFSA Annual Fund
This year GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, in conjunction with STA Travel donated a trip to Australia, including airfare, accomodation in Cairns and local excursions. Semester Abroad Programs Still Available for Fall 2011
Do you have students who are still interested in studying abroad this Fall? We are still accepting applications for our Bond University and International College of Management, Sydney Fall 2011 semester abroad programs. These Australian universities will start their Fall semester in September and run through December. The application deadline for these programs is June 15, 2011.

AustraLearn Short Courses: Tropical Marine Ecology on Australia’s East Coast
The course will provide an introduction to tropical marine ecosystems and the interactions of humans with these systems. Through hands-on research and exploration, students will be introduced to a fascinating world that until they may have only imagined. Students will visit 3 island research stations on the Great Barrier Reef, as well as Brisbane and Cairns. This course is worth 4 US credits. Learn more at www.australearn.org/tropicalmarine
EuroLearn: Lancaster University
Students can choose from a wide range of science classes, including aquatic biology, while studying for a semester or year at Lancaster University. Lancaster is well-known for its strong science programs, its vibrant campus life, and its proximity to the beautiful Lake District in England. Located in Bangkok, Thailand offers students a variety of Marine and Life Sciences courses taught in English. Students are able to get hands on experience exploring the ecology of Thai Islands. Read Alix Ozaki’s from Wesleyan University experience.

Students have the opportunity to experience marine science in the island nation of Fiji at the University of the South Pacific through their unique Faculty of Islands and Oceans. All classes are taught in English.

Resident Director Spotlight - Kym Treacy
Kym Treacy is the Senior Resident Director of Student Services & Programs based in Australia. Kym’s role is to manage all of the logistics for the Bridging Cultures Programs across the South Pacific as well as provide assistance, support and comfort to students and parents througout the study abroad experience. Kym has over 20 years experience which has allowed her to professionally organize and co-ordinate the groundwork for theBridging Cultures programs in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
